Description

2DOF two degrees of Freedom Mechanical Arm Gripper with servo motor DIY

The 2-DOF Mechanical Arm Gripper is a high-quality end-effector designed for robotic arms and automation projects. Built with a CNC-cut aluminum alloy frame, it offers excellent strength while keeping the weight low. Its parallel 2-link jaw mechanism provides smooth opening and closing motion, with a maximum jaw opening of 170 mm and jaw length of 80–85 mm (pivot to tip). This makes it suitable for gripping a wide range of objects securely, even in demanding STEM projects or industrial prototypes.

Powered by a 20 kg·cm high-torque digital servo, the gripper delivers a maximum theoretical grip force of 2.35 kg and a safe working load of up to 1.5 kg. The servo motor supports a wide operating voltage range of 5–8.4 V and offers reliable performance with full metal gears and smooth 180° rotation. Pre-drilled mounting holes make installation quick and easy, while its lightweight design (~350 g with servo) reduces load on the robotic arm. Ideal for pick-and-place automation, educational robotics, and DIY engineering kits, this gripper is a perfect choice for precision handling applications.
