Description
ADK USB Host Shield for Arduino (MAX3421E Based)
The ADK USB Host Shield is an Arduino-compatible expansion shield based on the MAX3421E USB host/peripheral controller. It adds full USB Host capability to Arduino boards, allowing them to communicate directly with USB devices such as keyboards, mice, game controllers, cameras, storage devices, and Android phones.
Unlike standard Arduino USB ports (which work as peripherals), this shield enables the Arduino to act as a USB Host. In USB communication, the host controls and powers the peripheral device, making this shield essential for projects that need direct USB device control.
The shield is compatible not only with Arduino UNO and Duemilanove but also with Arduino Mega and Mega 2560 without requiring SPI rewiring or code modification. Simply solder the included stackable headers (with the 2×3 ICSP connector female side facing down), plug it in, and you’re ready to go.
