SMS controlled railway crossing
The SMS-controlled railway crossing system is designed using a GSM modem. The GSM modem is configured as a receiver (for gate control). The SMS sent by the user is written in a particular format to open the gate. The controller receives the message and decodes it and identifies the task to be done.
In the kit SMS controlled railway crossing, any data sent via mobile phone will be delivered to the GSM modem connected with the microcontroller via the GSM network. The microcontroller reads the data from the GSM modem and processes it. If the format of the message is found to be correct, then it takes the proper action as per the instructions given by the user. Before closing the gate, it turns on a buzzer for alert and after some predefined time only it closes the gate. The system can be further upgraded and can be made automatic using different sensors.
