JDY-31 Bluetooth 3.0 SPP Module – 6-Pin Version (HC-06 Compatible)

The JDY-31 Bluetooth Module (6-Pin Version) is a classic Bluetooth serial communication module designed as a pin-compatible replacement for the HC-06. It is simpler to use, cost-effective, and widely adopted in embedded and DIY projects requiring reliable wireless UART communication. The module is based on Bluetooth 3.0 SPP (Serial Port Profile) and supports transparent data transmission with Windows, Linux, and Android devices.

Operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band with GFSK modulation, the JDY-31 offers a maximum transmission power of 8 dB and a communication range of up to 30 meters. Users can easily configure parameters such as device name, baud rate, and connection settings using AT commands, making the module flexible and developer-friendly for serial Bluetooth applications.

Pin Configuration (6-Pin)

  • 1 – STATE: Connection status output (low = not connected, high = connected)
  • 2 – RXD: Serial receive pin (connect to TX of MCU)
  • 3 – TXD: Serial transmit pin (connect to RX of MCU)
  • 4 – GND: Ground
  • 5 – VCC: Power supply (1.8–3.6 V, 3.3 V recommended)
  • 6 – EN: Enable pin (high = enabled, low = disabled)

Usage Notes

  • Basic operation requires only VCC, GND, RXD, and TXD connections
  • To actively disconnect while connected, use the AT+DISC command
  • EN pin allows software or hardware control of module enable/disable

  • AT+DISC – Disconnect (valid when connected)
  • AT+LADDR – Query MAC address
  • AT+PIN – Set/query pairing password (Default: 1234)
  • AT+BAUD – Set/query baud rate (Default: 9600)
  • AT+NAME – Set/query device name (Default: JDY-31-SPP)
  • AT+DEFAULT – Restore factory settings
  • AT+ENLOG – Serial port status output (Default: 1)
