Box Transport Mechanism
The Box Sliding Mechanism is an industrial automation–based prototype designed to demonstrate efficient material handling in manufacturing and packaging environments. This project focuses on reducing manual workload while improving the speed, reliability, and consistency of transferring goods from one station to another.
In modern industries, products are often required to shift along assembly lines for inspection, packing, sorting, or processing. This mechanism uses a motor-driven crank and linkage assembly which converts rotary motion into linear reciprocating motion. As the electric motor rotates, the mechanical linkages push the box along metal guide rails, enabling smooth forward and backward sliding movement. This reduces the dependency on human effort and enhances operational productivity.
The frame is fabricated using welded metal sections to ensure rigidity and durability. Guide rails help maintain directional control while the reciprocating motion replicates the real-world action used in conveyors, indexing machines, and automatic sorting systems. By automating material movement, industries can achieve higher throughput, improved safety, and minimized labor costs.
NOTE 1: No battery is included with this project due to courier restrictions.
