The 5V DC 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor with a standard interface, when used directly pluggable. It is a small, inexpensive, and high-quality geared step motor. The 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor and ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver is a widely popular combination of the stepper motor and stepper driver, because of the stability and reliability of the system.

The 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor has a reduction ratio of 64:1, so it offers a decent torque for its size at speeds of about 15 RPM. It is a unipolar stepper motor that has 5-wires. As stated before the pack contains a ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver which is a Mini Stepper Motor Driver. The main purpose of ULN2003 is to amplify the control signals from the Arduino, so as to drive the 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor.

If you will give the ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver a certain pulse signal, it will drive the step motor to a certain angle. The control of the Stepper Motor movement angle is done by controlling the number of stepper motor driver pulses. The speed of the stepper motor rotation is also controllable by controlling the frequency of the pulses.

Good thing I noticed before I started using it

Received this package today and the first board that I pulled out if it’s package had a chip mis-aligned. Good thing I noticed before I started using it ! Otherwise, seems like it’s ok for the price.

Great, small stepper motors

I used these stepper motors to drive a 3-axis automated camera track using an Arduino Uno controller and motor hat. Since the motor hat could directly control only two motors (without the provided driver boards), I used the Arduino analog pins and the provided driver board to control the third. The gearing plus driving the motors interleaved makes for very small steps. For one axis, I created a further reduction using a belt drive. I created eccentric mounts for two motors and a sliding mount for the third to allow tensioning of the GT2 drive belts.


I used two of these to create a drawing robot and they worked perfectly.

Quality product at great value.

I have already tested one unit with the Arduino Uno Stepper library. Everything functioned perfectly. The units are very well made and came in a nice box very neatly packaged.

Cheap but work. Just what I expected, a slow, low powered motor.That is also what I wanted.

Good motors, great price

Good motors, great price. The gearing gives slow speed (about 15rpm maximum), but very high torque. I love that I can try these out in a variety of circuits and not worry too much if I burn one.
