DescriptionAMS1117 5V step-down power supply module is based on the AMS1117 3V voltage regulator. It is capable of regulating a wide range of input voltage (6.0 to 12V) down to a fixed 5V output at up to 1A Standard 0.1″ header pins provide a means of connecting to its input and output terminals. The electronics project boards are supplied with unsoldered pins – solder them to either the top or bottom.
This 5V Step-Down Power Supply Module is more stable. These Boost modules or buck modules indicate the operating voltage, The load current can not exceed 800mA, the module input voltage must be higher than the output voltage, otherwise, it can not output enough power. These header pins have also been conveniently placed so that the module can be inserted face down into the standard.
Note: Do not exceed absolute maximum input voltage (12.5V) or output current. Exceeding maximum specifications can result in permanent damage to this module or any connected devices. The jumper connector is not soldered.

Arrived on time and worked as expected.
These work great for stepping down 5v to 3.3v for devices like the ESP8266. I only have one complaint, but it's not anything to knock off a star: if you're soldering one of these devices onto a prototype board, make sure you have enough space for the rest of your components. I'm using a 2cmx8cm board, and there's almost not room on each side for 1 row of holes. However, if you offset it on the board, you can free up a lot of space.These would work best on a breadboard. There are smaller versions of this regulator, but this definitely does the job.
