Description
DIY Water Level Sensor – Science Project for Class 5
This science project for class 5 lets kids build a simple water level sensor alarm that prevents overflows and teaches practical electronics. As the water rises, the float ball triggers a switch to complete the circuit and activate a buzzer or LED alert. This water level sensor project is an engaging example of science experiments for kids, demonstrating buoyancy, circuits, and real-world automation. Ideal for homes, classrooms, and eco-friendly applications.Materials Used:
- Float ball (a hollow ball that floats on water)
- Microswitch COM-NO-NC (Common, Normally Open, Normally Closed terminals)
- Buzzer
- LED
- Battery case (battery not included)
- Wires and connectors
- LED
- Mounting base
- LED case
- Gear
- User Manual: All the design details are clearly explained in the included guide.
Working Principle
The DIY water level sensor works on a simple principle. As the water level rises, the float ball moves upward and activates the COM-NO-NC switch. This action closes the Normally Open (NO) contact, completing the circuit and turning on the buzzer or LED. Meanwhile, the Normally Closed (NC) contact opens to stop any other connected devices. When the water level falls, the float ball lowers, resetting the switch. As a result, this science experiment for kids demonstrates how sensors can detect water levels and trigger automated responses.Advantages of This Science Project
Quality Time Together: Strengthen the bond with your child as you explore science experiments together. Watch their eyes light up with discovery and share memorable moments they'll cherish forever.Learning Wrapped in Fun: Ignite their passion for learning with this exciting science project for class 5.
