Description
L7805 / LM7805 Step Down Converter Module – 7.5V–35V to 5V Regulator Power Supply (1.2A Max)
The L7805 / LM7805 step-down regulator module is a compact 5V power supply board designed to convert a higher input voltage into a stable 5V DC output for microcontrollers and DIY electronics. It is based on the popular 7805 linear regulator and includes onboard filtering capacitors, a power indicator LED, and screw terminals for quick wiring.
This module is ideal for powering Arduino, sensors, small relay modules, and other 5V circuits from 7.5V–35V input (recommended lower input voltage for reduced heating). Some module versions include an onboard rectifier that may allow AC input / polarity-insensitive input—please verify using the PCB markings before use.

Important Notes
- This is a linear regulator module: excess voltage is dissipated as heat
- Heating increases with higher input voltage and higher current (Power loss ≈ (Vin − 5V) × I)
- For high-current loads, use a lower input voltage (e.g., 7.5V–12V) or add heatsinking/airflow
- If you need better efficiency (less heat), consider a DC-DC buck converter module instead
