This Decade Counter Using Circuit is a simple circuit that shows the pattern of the Ripple Decade counter. IC 4017 is used here as the counter. The 4017B is an integrated circuit that has been designed to count pulses. It has 16 pins and looks like any other 16 pins integrated circuit. To provide the clock pulse to the IC, a manual switch is used here. Instead one can use any external clock source also. The output frequency depends on the speed of the pulse.
