Description

The GSM-based energy meter is an electrical measuring device, which is used to record Electrical Energy Consumed over a specified period of time in terms of units. Here we have an energy meter using the current sensing concept. This energy meter is prepaid that is recharged and used. The recharge can be done by sending a simple SMS from your mobile phone.

GSM-based energy meter billing with load control is the power supply is cut-off after a particular unit. The operator sitting at the remote station can recharge the system using SMS. Here the microcontroller keeps on sensing the load also. As the load increases, it will turn off the relay, and hence the power will be cut. As soon as the load gets decreased, the controller can turn on the relay also. The kit is designed of wireless prepaid energy meter which is controlled by the GSM technology with control using simple SMS.
