Intelligent toll tax collection

Description

The Intelligent toll tax collection uses an automatic means of collecting revenue from a vehicle used for the use of road-space through road-use pricing or toll collection is one means of traffic demand management. Systems that currently exist to implement the automatic collection of road-use revenue are not particularly advanced and would not be suitable (in most cases) for large-scale implementation. In this kit, we have used two infrared Transmitters and a Receiver one upper and one lower.

The Upper IR sensor is fixed at the height at which only Heavy Vehicles can interrupt the path while the lower sensor is placed at a height to detect the light vehicles which are small in height i.e. when heavy vehicles will intrude on both lower and upper sensor while the light vehicle will intrude the path of only lower IR sensor.

The Intelligent toll tax collection kit is more durable. When the light vehicle is detected, LCD will display out “please insert Rs 5/-for light vehicle and “please insert two times Rs 5/- + Rs 5/- for heavy vehicle. If the coin is inserted, it will stop asking for the coin and the gate will open. When the vehicle crosses another side of the gate will close, also the count value on the LCD will be updated. Operation is similar for heavy vehicles where the device is going to ask for five rupee coins for the project. So no vehicle can cross without paying. The data can be logged on PC also.
