This Speedometer Cum Odometer project is also concerned with the design of an automatic unit to calculate the speed and distance covered by the vehicle.

A speedometer is a gauge that measures and displays the instantaneous speed of a land vehicle. An odometer is an instrument that indicates distance traveled by a vehicle, such as a bicycle or an automobile. The device may be electronic, mechanical, or a combination of the two.

This Speedometer Cum Odometer Kit is basically dependant on programming for interrupt. The IR sensor provides the interrupt signal which initiates a timer and using this feature we calculate the speed. Using the speed we can calculate the distance also.
