Description

Rain Drop Detection Sensor Module Raindrops Humidity Weather Sensor

The Raindrops Detection sensor module is used for rain detection. It is also for measuring rainfall intensity. Rain sensor can be used for all kinds of weather monitoring and translated into output signals and AO.

Raindrops Detection Sensor Module Rain Weather Module for Arduino, etc. Rain sensor can be used to monitor a variety of weather conditions and turned into several fixed output signal and Analog output.

It includes a printed circuit board (control board) that “collects” the raindrops. As raindrops are collected on the circuit board, they create paths of parallel resistance that are measured via the op-amp. The lower the resistance (or the more water), the lower the voltage output. Conversely, the less water, the greater the output voltage on the analog pin. A completely dry board, for example, will cause the module to output 5V.

The module includes a rain board and a control board that is separate for more convenience. It has a power indicator LED and an adjustable sensitivity through a potentiometer. The module is based on the LM393 op-amp.

Soldering Job is VERY Sensitive

I had read reviews that the soldering job was not the greatest, but I was very surprised when my order came and already 2/3 of the sensors solders had snapped just in the mail. Fortunately, the third one held on and worked for all of a few minutes. Upon plugging in the sensor, it worked just fine. I then unplugged it and plugged it back in and the THIRD SOLDER SNAPPED! I guess I'll have to return this item but I would really appreciate it if the seller would just send me another. I'm a bit upset but I won't rate the seller bad as their product DOES work, but the solders are just way too sensitive.

Great for many applications !!

I used one in vehicle to Automatically turn on wipers, used one on Garden to automatically turn on Water. Third one still thinking of another application.

So far very pleased....||

I saw a mod where these boards were attached to the Wyze Sensor board to detect moisture. Didn't need the little circuit board provided, just the grid board. Moisture from the finger even will trigger the Wyze Sensor. I'm putting one under the furnace, the water heater, and RO filter to be notified of leaks.

Works well

I have used one of the 3 so far. Good product.

Readily adaptable

Satisfied need for a sensor that could be placed in hard to access locations (inside stud wall) to check for moisture penetration, an application that didn't require the module that connects to the sensor for Arduino use. Simply used the provided wires to connect to an ohmmeter which indicates "infinite" or "open circuit" until a drop bridges the tracings on the sensor. Wrapped the sensor in the toe of a cotton sock to wick up moisture.

It works well.

3.3V Not compatible

I attempted to use this with an ESP32 and ESP8266 which supply 3.3V and use 3.3V logic without success. I had to use a boost converter to power and a voltage divider to bring the output data into the proper range. Do not trust that your rain sensor will work at 3.3V.
