AMG8833 IR 8×8 Thermal Imager Array Temperature Sensor Module

The AMG8833 is a compact thermal imaging sensor designed to deliver accurate infrared temperature mapping using an 8×8 pixel array. This advanced thermal sensor captures 64 individual temperature points via the I2C interface, while internally working with calibrated thermal couples for reliable measurements. As a result, the module functions as an efficient thermal imaging sensor for real-time monitoring applications.

When connected to a microcontroller or Raspberry Pi, this thermal imaging sensor provides stable digital output, making it suitable for automation and safety systems. Moreover, the integrated thermal sensor structure and precision thermal couples enable temperature detection from 0°C to 80°C with ±2.5°C accuracy. It can also detect human presence from distances up to 7 meters.

Pin Description

  • Vin: Power input (3–5V DC) with onboard 3.3V regulator.
  • 3Vo: 3.3V output from the regulator (max 100mA).
  • GND: Common ground for power and logic.
  • SCL: I2C clock pin with 10K pull-up resistor, supports 3–5V logic.
  • SDA: I2C data pin with 10K pull-up resistor, supports 3–5V logic.
  • INT: Interrupt output pin (3V logic) for motion or temperature change detection.
