Description

5V Regulated Power Supply is required for all DC-operated devices. They provide a smooth power supply of desired ratings. Most of the devices operate on a 5V DC power supply, hence here we are going to design a regulated power supply. 78xx series of regulators are most common in use. The 5V Regulated Power Supply Kits provide a constant voltage (regulated power ) at the output of xx volts if the input voltage is within a given range.

In the given circuit diagram, as we can see, the power supply provided by the battery is 9V. It goes to the input terminal of the 7805, LED D2 indicates the input power. At the output, we will get a regulated 5V and it is indicated by LED D1. R1 and R2 limit the current flowing across LEDs. C1 and C2 are of low value (0.1uF), hence they are working here as power decoupling capacitors.
