Description
Electromagnetic Brakes
This project demonstrates the operation of electromagnetic brakes. A lot of electric cars, industrial machines, and automation systems use this new way of stopping. There is a DC motor that drives a chain and sprocket system that turns a wheel. This makes it look like a car is moving. When you push the brake, an electromagnet turns on and makes a strong magnetic field that works with the metal wheel hub. This magnetic pull makes a non-contact braking force that stops or slows down the rotation without causing any friction between the parts.
NOTE: This picture is only meant to show you what it looks like. The size of the finished product might be a little different. The color of the raw materials may also change depending on what's available, but this doesn't change how the product works. The picture makes it look better than it really is because it's just for the student's project.
