Description
DIY PWM Lamp dimmer using 555 IC can adjust the brightness of one or more LEDs from 5% to 95%. The kit LED Dimmer Project uses the PWM technique to dim the intensity of the LED light. Here, the DC source is connected to the NE555 timer. The PWM signal always depends on the duty cycle, so we can vary the duty cycle through NE555. If we vary the duty cycle, we can generate the pulse with various widths. So we use a timer to generate the PWM to dimmer the LED or increase the brightness of the LED.
In this 555 timer, LED Dimmer Project IC is used to generate the PWM signal. The width of the PWM signal depends on the duty cycle. By varying the duty cycle we can generate the pulse with various widths. A preset of 10K is connected with PIN 6 of 555 IC which is used to vary the voltage to generate the PWM signal in various duty cycles. The higher the duty cycle higher will be the brightness of the LED.
