In the kit postpaid energy management system Current sensor is attached with the microcontroller to read the current. It is assumed that the voltage is fixed, hence the power consumed is calculated relatively. This consumed power is then converted into units with a constant multiplier and displayed on the LCD. The LCD is a dot-matrix LCD of the dimension of 2X16. A GSM modem is there attached to the microcontroller on the UART port, with which the user can read the current reading from anywhere via SMS.

This postpaid energy management system kit is designed to measure the relative energy consumed. An LCD is there to display the units consumed till now. A Relay is also there to cut the power supply. If any tampering happens there, the relay will be turned off automatically and the supply will be cut.
