DescriptionThe science kit includes a Simple Sensitive Remote Tester that uses a TSOP handy gadget to test infrared IR-based remote control transmitters such as those used in TVs and VCRs. By using an IR sensor module, the tester can be used to sense the IR signals from remote control transmitters, which then turn on the led. This way, we can simply test our remote.
In the kit, Remote Tester USING T-SOP 38 kHz infrared (IR) rays generated by the remote control are received by IR receiver module TSOP1738 of the circuit. The IR Sensor tester is powered by two 3 volts lithium cells. The sensor module is tested using the Test socket. Alternately you can use 3 mini alligator clips for onboard testing. When the switch S1 is turned on, the LED and buzzer remain off, if the IR sensor is good. When the remote handset is focused on the sensor, and any of the buttons is pressed, the LED blinks in sympathy with the pulsed IR rays and buzzer beeps. This indicates that the sensor is good.
A good Remote Tester Sensor will give a high output when it is not receiving IR rays. This high output makes the cathode of LED and the negative of buzzer high and they remain off. When the output of the sensor turns low by receiving the IR rays, the LED and buzzer turn on.
