GSM and RFID based student tracking system for parents.

Description

In the kit student tracking system for parent’s Radio frequency identification (RFID) system is an identification system that uses radio waves to retrieve data from a device called a tag or transponder. It can be used for different purposes like ID cards, billing cards etc. Here, the RFID card is used for the ID card of the students of a college. Each student will have an RFID card. The system is such that if any student arrives at the college, he will have to swap the card at the entry gate. As soon as the student swaps the card, an automatic SMS is sent to the registered user corresponding to the student. Hence, the guardian can track the students easily.

The kit student tracking system for parents has three main components, an RFID reader, GSM Modem and a microcontroller. The RFID reader reads the number of the card if any card is swapped. This number is sent to the microcontroller which matches it from its database. If the student is found, then the mobile number is searched and an SMS is sent to this number. A dot-matrix LCD is there for the proper assistance to the user. This system can be further upgraded and can be connected with the central database of any organization so that the person can be tracked easily inside the organization also. It can also be used for marketing personals, college and school student tracking and at several places.
