This Electronic Project Circuit involves creating a circuit that doubles the voltage of a DC supply using simple components. This project will use capacitors, switches, and 555 times and how a capacitor is charged and discharged. Also, we will learn about soldering and circuit testing. The main purpose of doing this DIY project is a circuit used for doubling the voltage uses the principle of charging and discharging the capacitor.
The Voltage Doubler Circuit described below is used to double the input DC power by using IC 555 timer with capacitors and diodes. This circuit is useful when a higher voltage level is required from a lower voltage power supply.
This Voltage Doubler Project is built using 555 timers wired to operate in astable mode, which means it creates a square wave with about a 2 kHz frequency with the help of capacitors and resistance. When input power is provided to the circuit, the output will generate at PIN 3 of the 555 Timer IC. A supply voltage of 3V to 12V is suitable for the course and can't be more. The NE555 IC will destroy if the limit is exceeded.
