Design of monitoring system for coal mine safety based on wireless sensor and alert system using X-bee
In coal mines, whenever explosions occur, the rescue work is done by rescue workers without any prior knowledge of the environmental condition inside the coal mines because the mine monitoring systems may be destroyed or damaged. This makes the life of rescue workers very risky. It also takes some time for the rescue workers to reach the spot.
In the kit wireless coal mine safety are two implemented units for the whole system. At one unit, the co sensor and X Bee are connected and data is transmitted. The data transmitted is received at the receiver unit is displayed on the LCD. A buzzer is there with the alarm indication if gas leakage is detected. Both units can be powered with either DC or AC 12V power supply. The system can be further upgraded with the implementation of multiple sensors.

Description
The wireless coal mine safety is an important factor to be considered in all system designs. Here we have designed a system that will prevent the workers in coal mines from any hazard by alerting them with alarm and display. We have used a CO sensor that will sense the number of carbon monoxides present at the site. If this level exceeds some user-defined value then an alarm will be triggered at the site and at a remote place also.In coal mines, whenever explosions occur, the rescue work is done by rescue workers without any prior knowledge of the environmental condition inside the coal mines because the mine monitoring systems may be destroyed or damaged. This makes the life of rescue workers very risky. It also takes some time for the rescue workers to reach the spot.
