XKC-001A NPN NO Diffuse Reflection Infrared Sensor – DC 5-12V

The XKC-001A NPN NO Diffuse Reflection Infrared Sensor is a compact non-contact object detector that uses infrared light reflected from a target. Its diffuse-reflection design does not require a separate reflector, making it suitable for object sensing in compact machinery, conveyors and microcontroller-based projects.

Operating on a DC 5-12V power supply, the sensor offers an adjustable 0-100cm sensing range and a specified 10-15° cone-shaped sensing angle. The NPN open-collector Normally Open (NO) output is intended for compatible digital inputs and switching circuits. The switching output changes state when a suitable object is detected, according to the NO configuration.

The sensor has a quiescent current below 3.5mA, a red detection indicator and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 85°C. Actual detection distance depends on the target surface, size, reflectivity and ambient lighting.
