Description

The 5MM 5506 LDR sensor is a high-quality component that adjusts resistance with ambient light and serves effectively as an LDR light detector and an LDR photo resistor for smart lighting control.

As light on the surface increases, resistance decreases—allowing the circuit to detect brightness changes efficiently. Therefore, this makes it ideal for automatic ON/OFF lighting systems and other responsive designs that rely on an LDR sensor.

The LDR 5MM ldr sensor works reliably in both bright and dark conditions. Since it mimics the response of the human eye, it remains consistent across varied environments; in short, higher illumination lowers resistance, improving response of the LDR sensor.

This component uses Cadmium Sulphide (CdS) photo-conductive cells with a spectral response similar to the human eye. As light intensity rises, cell resistance falls, enabling smooth detection and fast reaction in smoke detection, lighting control, batch counting, and burglar alarm systems.
